Equipment Protection Plan

The standard Caterpillar factory warranty typically provides coverage for the first six to 12 months. However, Cat machines last much longer. That’s why so many buyers of brand-new Cat equipment take the extra step of signing up for the Equipment Protection Plan (EPP). Backed by Cat Financial Insurance Services, an EPP “wraps around” the factory warranty and extends coverage beyond the base period.

An EPP offers extraordinary flexibility. You can choose from three coverage options including Powertrain, Powertrain + Hydraulic and the comprehensive Premier plan. Regardless of which option you choose, you won’t have to worry about major repair costs negatively impacting your company’s bottom line.

Extended Service Coverage

Extended Service Coverage (ESC) provides another long-term equipment protection alternative. An ESC picks up coverage after the factory warranty expires. It provides reimbursement for parts and labor for covered components, minus any applicable deductible. The wide variety of coverage options enables you to customize the service to your needs and budget requirements.

An ESC can also be transferred to a new owner, making it an attractive incentive to a potential buyer if you decide to sell the machine, while also increasing its resale value. An ESC is available for Cat on-highway and vocational trucks, as well as marine, railroad, industrial, petroleum and electrical power equipment.
