Boyd Company Announces 2025-27 ThinkBIG Class: Continuing a Proud Legacy of Technician Development
Jeffersontown, KY – June 2, 2025 – Boyd Company is excited to welcome 10 students into the 2025-27 ThinkBIG program, continuing its commitment to shaping the next generation of skilled technicians. These students will gain hands-on experience at Boyd CAT branches throughout the company’s territory, while pursuing their education at Illinois Central College.
ThinkBIG is an immersive, two-year program that equips students with the expertise needed to excel in the heavy equipment industry. Through a combination of classroom instruction and real-world experience, students earn an associate’s degree in applied science while mastering essential skills such as engine fundamentals, machine hydraulics, transmissions and more. Boyd CAT has proudly supported ThinkBIG since 2001, carrying forward the legacy established by Whayne Supply with 168 total students going through the program as of 2025.
“ThinkBIG is such a great opportunity for students to kick-start their careers while still going to school,” says Kelsie Conner, Boyd CAT’s Recruiting & Employee Experience Manager. “They get real, hands-on experience working with skilled technicians, earn a paycheck, and work toward a degree—all at once. It’s a strategic step toward a successful future while strengthening the industries that keep our communities running every day.”
Applications for the 2026-28 ThinkBIG class are currently open, with a deadline of February 1, 2026.
